
Dr. Lisa Johnston is the Editor-in-Chief of SapphireWire. In this new endeavor, she hopes to provide a resource for voter education and civic engagement.
After an 18 year career in higher education serving in both faculty and administrative roles, Lisa chose to step forward to run for United States Senate in an effort to pursue public service. She won the 2010 Democratic primary election to become the Democratic Nominee for United States Senate. She holds a Bachelor’s and two Master’s degrees in Psychology in addition to a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
She believes in promoting integrity in our elected officials and feels that we need leaders dedicated to solving problems, improving our state and nation, and working on behalf of the interests of the people.

Kyle Johnston is the Chief Technical Officer and Media Liaison for SapphireWire.
After starting his career in print and commercial design, Kyle has spent the last 14 years of his career focusing on web and interactive design. He is currently the Creative Director for a large company in Olathe, Kansas.
In addition to his design and technical experience, Kyle has become substantially involved in the political arena. He served as Communications Director for Lisa’s U.S. Senate campaign. Kyle’s other civic and professional activities include serving on the Johnson County Community College Interactive Media and Dean’s advisory boards and serving as Web Communications Chair for AIGA Kansas City.
